The Atmospheric Jazz Club in the Heart of Graz

The city's oldest jazz venue, the Royal Garden Jazz Club opened its doors for the first time in 1981. Housed in a 15th century basement in the historic centre of Graz, the vaulted cellar provides an atmospheric setting for sipping wine and enjoying live music ranging from traditional to modern jazz.

The many musicians that have played in the club include such masters as Herb Ellis, Art Farmer, Scott Hamilton, James Moody, Bosko Petrovic, Bob Mover, Joe Pass, Kirk Lightsey, Clark Terry, Jimmy Cobb, Dusko Goykovich, "Toots" Thielemans, Ed Thigpen, Ernie Wilkins, Art Hodes, Hal Singer, Philip Catherine, Niels-Henning Ørsted-Pedersen, Mundell Lowe, Valery Ponomarev, Jim Pepper, Mark Murphy, Bill Berry, Rolf Ericson, Kenny Drew, Primoz Grasic, Stjepko Gut, Merrill Hoover, John Lewis, Don Menza, Don Pullen, Alvin Queen, Martin Drew, Lew Tabakin and Leo Wright.

Seit dem Jahr 1981 ist das Kellergewölbe aus dem 15.Jahrhundert mit der stimmigen Atmosphäre großer Traditions-Clubs Treffpunkt der Grazer Jazz Society und von Freunden des traditionellen Jazz bis zum Modern Jazz.
